Downtown at Sundown

On the third Thursday of every month from 5 to 8 PM at MCASD Downtown, enjoy free Museum admission, exhibition tours, music by The Roots Factory Art Collective, free entry at SDSU Downtown Gallery, drink specials at Stone Brewing Company Store and The Flight Path Wine Bar & Bistro, The Book Truck, a food truck, and so much more.  

At this special Downtown at Sundown, actor, comedian, and art collector Cheech Marin will be on hand signing copies of the Papel Chicano Dos catalogue. Copies of the catalogue will be available for purchase. See four exhibitions in MCASD's downtown galleries: DeLIMITations: A Survey of the 1821 United States-Mexico BorderPapel Chicano dos: Works on paper from the Collection of Cheech MarinRuben Ochoa: Watching, waiting, commiseratingand Moris: Beautiful Landscape 7: beatings, hard bread and cold-water baths.

At the San Diego State University Downtown Gallery, guests can look forward to an evening of art and music. See their current exhibition, With Abandon: Works by SDSU Alumni 2011-2016, followed by performances from San Diego post-punk duo Blood Ponies. The band will perform two sets in the gallery throughout the evening at 6:15 and 7:15 PM. Keeping with the alumni theme, frontman Jeff Terich graduated from SDSU in 2004.
