RAIN OR SHINE! If weather doesn't permit, this event will move into our downtown location.

The public is welcome to this celebratory reopening of the renovated North Plaza and One America Plaza, directly across the street from MCASD’s downtown location.

This free two-day event will feature music and dance performances, exhibition tours, art-making activities, silent discos powered by Silent Storm, artist workshops and more to encourage the community to “take back” this public space as a communal locale for gathering and creating.

One event of note on Saturday evening will be the first-ever binational PechaKucha Night Tijuana-San Diego Vol. 1. PechaKucha Night was devised by Astrid Klein and Mark Dytham of Klein Dytham architecture. PKNs are informal and fun gatherings where creative people get together and share their ideas, works and creative projects in the PechaKucha 20x20 format (20 slides for 20 seconds each). This talk will include Tijuana, Mexico’s Agentes del Arte Contemporáneo and the San Diego Architectural Foundation to explore art and public engagement between Tijuana and San Diego. Free parking will also be provided to Public2 attendees in One America Plaza.
