Hoover High School Learning Through the Arts: A San Diego Unified School District's Title I Arts Integration Initiative Culminating Celebration

Friday, Jun 02, 2017-Sunday, Jun 04, 2017

Hoover High School is one of several schools in the San Diego Unified School District awarded Title I funding to improve academic achievement in English and Language Arts through arts integration. By pairing classroom teachers with teaching artists affiliated with MCASD and other local arts partners, Hoover teachers have been successfully integrating the arts into the English and Language Arts’ curricula over the last two years. Local partners include the Museum of Photographic Arts, The Old Globe Theater, Outside the Lens, SoCal Jazz Society, TranscenDance, and Arts for Learning San Diego.

Join us as we celebrate these students’ achievements through this important and impressive program. This program is free to attend.

The Extended School Partnership (ESP) program at MCASD is made possible by generous support from the Hearst Foundations, San Diego Unified School District, Farrell Family Foundation, ResMed Foundation, Price Philanthropies Foundation, U.S. Bank Foundation, Samuel I. & John Henry Fox Foundation and the City of Chula Vista. Additional support is provided by annual contributors to the MCASD Museum Fund. Institutional support of MCASD is provided by the City of San Diego Commission for Arts and Culture and the County of San Diego Community Enhancement Fund.
