Field Trip > Explore Tijuana's Art & Architecture Scene

Friday, Feb 23, 2018 - 10:00 AM

Grab your passport and join MCASD for an expedition into Tijuana's food, art, and architecture scene! You'll enjoy access to artist studios and more as we explore some of the most interesting spaces in the city.

We'll depart MCASD Downtown at 10 AM and travel to the studio of artist Paula Flores for a unique, behind-the-scenes look at her practice.

Next we'll head to lunch at Cine Tonalá, where we'll meet with José Inerzia, filmmaker and co-director of the venue. This independent movie theater and bar has an expansive terrace with a restaurant turning out delicious and innovative dishes.

After lunch we'll make our way to boutique hotel One Bunk at the old Hotel Lafayette, where we'll enjoy a tour led by Seth Sullivan.

Next we'll visit artist Carlos Cisneros, a.k.a. Elsoldelrac for another one-of-a-kind, up close experience with the artist. At 6:30 PM, we'll get back on the bus and return to San Diego.

This program is $130 for Members, and $160 for non-members. Tickets include lunch and round-trip border transportation. Capacity is limited.
