Extended School Partnership (ESP) Showcase > Westview High School and Mount Miguel High School

Saturday, May 27, 2017 - 2:00 PM-4:00 PM

The Extended School Partnership (ESP) program invites teachers and students to consider the Museum as extension of their classroom by integrating the arts into core curriculum studies. Each school and cohort of teachers works together with our Museum educators to develop a curriculum that uses contemporary art and the exhibitions on view as a catalyst for both creative thinking and making.

Gaining inspiration from the exhibition Dimensions of Black, several classes from Mt. Miguel High School and the AP photography class of Westview High School created art works inspired by notable contemporary African American artists whoe work references complex issues of society, history, and memory. Deeply affected by the current political climate,  students worked to use contemporary art as a vehicle for understanding, solidarity, and action in their own lives and communities.

Join us for a celebration of their achievements at this special Showcase event. This program is free to attend.
