Due to an overwhelming demand, reserved tickets for this event are now sold out. We still welcome the community in celebrating the life and legacy of Yolanda López. There will be a waiting queue outside, and starting at 5:30 PM, we will allow non-ticketed entry on a one-in, one-out basis.
All are welcome to join us on Saturday, October 16, from 4 PM - 7 PM to celebrate the life and legacy of Yolanda López with an opening reception on MCASD’s Figi Family Concourse. Co-presented with Centro Cultural de la Raza, the event will feature food and beverage provided by Mujeres Brew House and live music by Bambula, a South Bay music collective. Remarks will begin at 5 PM. Masks are required indoors and are highly recommended outdoors. MCASD Downtown will be open with free admission from 10 AM - 4 PM. Galleries will continue to be open through the event. Reservations for free tickets will begin on Friday, October 1, at 10 AM at mcasd.org.
For everyone’s safety, all visitors must book tickets in advance. Masks are required indoors and are highly recommended outdoors. Space is limited; first-come, first-served. Entry to the Celebration is only available through a reserved ticket as capacity is limited to adequate physical distancing. We encourage guests to reserve a ticket before arrival at MCASD Downtown. Once capacity is reached, we will only allow entry to guests on a one-in, one-out basis.
The Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego invites all audiences to experience our world, our region, and ourselves through the prism of contemporary art.
