MCASD Celebrates Archtoberfest!

MCASD will be participating in Archtoberfest San Diego 2014, a month-long celebration of architecture, art, and design. Throughout the month we'll be hosting events that expand awareness and appreciation of the region's important architecture and design legacy. Join us in celebrating Archtoberfest at these MCASD events!

TNT: Edifice
> Thursday, October 9 > 7-10 PM> Downtown
Celebrate our built environment and those who transform it during this TNT in partnership with Archtoberfest. Dive deeper into the art with tours, art-making activities, live music on the plaza, tasty cocktails, and delicious bites. TNT also offers the opportunity to celebrate our newest exhibitions by artists Rita McBride and Colter Jacobsen, and to learn more from spotlight talks led by Gallery Educators.

Field Trip: San Diego's Arts Scene
> Friday, October 24 > 10:30 aM > Downtown Departure
October is "Fall for the Arts" month in San Diego and we think a field trip to local galleries, artist studios, and collections is the best way to celebrate the arts in our town. Discover public art and hear artists discuss their work and processes. These trips sell out, so be sure to secure your tickets early! Get more info.

Teen CreateLAB: Rita McBride: Public Tilt -- A Response to the Built Environment
> Saturday, October 25 > 1-4 pm > Downtown
The objects featured in the exhibition Rita McBride Public Tilt force viewers to closely examine the built environment and the way we use space. MCASD will invite 40-50 high school students to explore architecture, engineering, and project proposal planning in a half-day workshop led by MCASD Gallery Educator and Architect, Josh Clavell.
