British Artist Isaac Julien to Speak and Exhibit at MCASD

British artist Isaac Julien is known for his arresting films and dynamic gallery installations. Hear him speak about his work at the annual Russell Lecture on Thursday, February 23 at 7 PM at MCASD La Jolla.

For many years, MCASD and the University of California, San Diego have partnered to bring contemporary artists to San Diego through this annual program. The Russell Lecture is free for Members and UCSD Arts Faculty, Staff, and Students. Tickets are available at a limited capacity and are offered on a first-come, first-served basis. General admission tickets are $15. Reserve yours today.

Julien's most ambitious project to date, Ten Thousand Waves, opens Saturday, February 25 at MCASD Downtown. The stunning nine-screen installation weaves together three stories from China's ancient past and present. Several photographic stills--including two that have never been seen before--as well as a single-screen projection will be shown alongside the installation.
