Is It Real? International, Multigenerational Group Exhibition Asks that Question when it Opens at the Museum’s La Jolla Location on March 1.

San Diego, CA—The Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego will present Lifelike at its La Jolla location from March 1 through May 27, 2013. Lifelike invites a close examination of artworks based on commonplace objects and situations, which are startlingly realistic, often playful, and sometimes surreal. This international, multigenerational group exhibition features artists variously using scale, unusual materials, and sly contextual devices to reveal the manner in which their subjects’ “authenticity” is manufactured.

The Silver Screen Meets Art House on Saturday, September 8

Popular vote determined top three contest winners

San Diego, CA—The Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego (MCASD) announced the winners of the “Get Famous with the Greedy Organ” art contest today. The contest began in May when MCASD invited people ages 25 and under to submit their original art for the chance to have their work displayed at a showcase event and be featured in future advertising.
