MCASD Presents Liza Lou: Color Field at Its Downtown Location

Media are Invited to Witness and Photograph Installation

San Diego, CA—The Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego (MCASD) will debut the newest beaded sculpture by MacArthur prize-winning artist Liza Lou on July 12 at its downtown location, 1100 Kettner Blvd. The exhibition, titled Liza Lou: Color Field, will remain on viewin the Strauss Gallery through November 3, 2013.

MCASD Announces "Shore Thing," Extended Summer Hours in La Jolla

Shore Thing to Serve as a Community Open House and Happy Hour during Extended Summer Hours; Will Offer Additional Programming such as Music, Food Trucks, Films, Workshops, and More

Looking for a “shore thing” this summer? Thursday nights just got more interesting. The Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego (MCASD) today announced it will offer extended summer hours at its La Jolla location, staying open late—until 8 PM—every Thursday evening from June 13 through August 29 (with the exception of July 4).

San Diego, CA—On Thursday, May 2 from 5:30-6:30 PM, an event honoring all fourteen entrants from the 52nd District will be held at the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego (MCASD). The event will also celebrate the winner of the contest, whose artwork will be displayed in Washington, D.C. at the nation’s Capitol for the next year. The event will be held in the Strauss Gallery in the Museum’s downtown Joan and Irwin Jacobs Building.
