Part cinematic funhouse, part short-film festival extraordinaire, the seventh annual alt.pictureshows returns in force as San Diego’s premier short-film showcase with a new collection of stunning and innovative live-action and animated short films that are sure to delight and surprise viewers.

With its wildly eclectic lineup, alt.pictureshows continues to break down the barriers of the movie-going experience by encouraging “physical channel surfing” where viewers can experience a range of different short films in the Museum’s galleries and outdoor plazas as they screen on a loop throughout the evening.

This year’s event will take place—for the first time—at the Museum’s downtown location, and will feature short cinematic works by Dumb Bunny (“Abbie Cancelled”), Sam Taylor-Wood (“Love You More”), Bill Plympton (“Hot Dog”), PES (“Western Spaghetti”), Don Hertzfeldt (“I Am So Proud of You”) Justin Newell (“Acting for the Camera”), Nadejda Koseva (“Omelette”), and many others.
