In celebration of 25th anniversary of the Contemporary Collectors donor group, and in advance of the opening of the exhibition Pleasure Point: Celebrating 25 Years of Contemporary Collectors, artist Nancy Rubins will give a public lecture discussing her work, including the astounding installation she created for MCASD in 2006. Overhanging the Museum’s oceanview terrace, the site-specific work Pleasure Point is an accumulation of boats and nautical parts. Distinguishing it from traditional sculptural monuments, the performative nature of Rubins’ work derives from its spontaneity and its process-orientation.

All proceeds from this event will be donated to the Red Cross to aid relief efforts in Haiti.
