Product Porch Debuts Print by Artist John Bauer
Product Porch at MCASD Downtown is proud to announce a new, limited-edition print by San Diego-born, LA-based artist John Bauer.
The print, an edition of five, is a black and silver silkscreen on Twinrocker handmade paper. Bauer is a painter who often employs many non-painting techniques in his practice, including digital graphic design, screen-printing, spray painting, and stenciling. He works frequently with a monochromatic palette, incorporating the pixelated effect of print media to create a sense of frenetic, information overload reflective of urban experience.
This is the first print produced by Bauer and the first artist’s edition commissioned by Product Porch. The artist will be present at TNT on Thursday, March 22.
John Bauer is currently included in the group exhibition: John Bauer, Sylvie Fleury, Gary Hume, David La Chapelle, Marilyn Minter, Anselm Reyle, Gavin Turk at Patricia Low Contemporary in St. Moritz, Switzerland. Other recent exhibitions include: 2010 Sleight of Hand at Patricia Low Contemporary, Geneva, Switzerland (solo), 2009 Abstract America: New Art from the US at the Saatchi Gallery, London, UK, and 2007 John Bauer, Bellwether Gallery, New York, NY (solo).
