Annual Dues: $10,000 per household ($9,700 is tax-deductible) .
$3,000 goes directly to purchase art which members help select. The remainder supports the Museum's operations and an annual exhibition. International Collectors enjoy all the benefits and privileges of Contemporary Collectors' membership.
With the help of Joan and Irwin Jacobs, this group was launched in 2000 as a companion program to the Contemporary Collectors.
International Collectors help fund an exhibition each year and also support the acquisition of new works for the collection. In addition to year-round exhibition preview privileges with MCASD curators, as well as a domestic art tour, International Collectors are invited to join Hugh M. Davies, The David C. Copley Director, on an exclusive art tour abroad. This trip includes international art events, five-star hotels, and opportunities to view the work of emerging and established artists under the guidance of the Director and the curators. Current members receive an invitation to the annual International Collectors Event, an exclusive gathering at a private residence where members dine amidst great contemporary art and enjoy the company of fellow collectors. The roster represents many of MCASD's Trustees, and major art collectors and patrons from San Diego and beyond.
International Collectors are invited to participate in all Contemporary Collectors' activities, such as the Annual Selection Dinner, as well as all the events MCASD offers its upper-level members. These include the Patrons' Sunday Brunches, and other events with artists, curators, and collectors. In addition, Collectors' names are listed on the Donor Boards in Axline Court in La Jolla and at MCASD Downtown, as well as year-round in VIEW.
