SANTIAGO CUCULLU, “ESCAPE ME NEVER”, 2006, CONTACT PAPER, COURTESY OF THE ARTIST AND PERRY RUBENSTEIN GALLERY, NEW YORK. PHOTOGRAPH BY PABLO MASON.

Milwaukee-based Argentinean artist Santiago Cucullu will create a site-specific installation in conjunction with the exhibition TRANSactions: Contemporary Latin American and Latino Art. Cucullu’s pieces juxtapose images of progressive, historical figures and events drawn from references such as the Italian-Argentine radical Severino di Giovanni, the band Led Zeppelin, and the plays of Samuel Beckett, as well as his own personal experiences. Known for his immersive environments and wall drawings made from contact paper, Cucullu will create a new work that will engage the unique architecture and oceanfront site of the Museum.
