MCASD AFTER SCHOOL The MCASD After School program aims to give students consistent exposure to contemporary art and allow them direct contact with artists and Museum staff. By increasing the students' awareness of the MCASD Downtown space, this program provides students with a sense of ownership of the space, as well as a new confidence in having mentors among Museum staff. Through the MCASD After School Program, students visit the Museum and meet a local or visiting artist whose work is one view at one of the MCASD Downtown sites. Students have the opportunity to meet also with Museum staff to observe the work, and discuss it, before talking and interacting with the artist. Both junior high and high school-age students from two schools meet with the artists for a fun and unique artist encounter. MTS Classroom Day Tripper gives teachers and youth groups (up to age 18) round-trip travel on MTS Buses and Trolleys to either the Downtown or La Jolla MCASD locations for just $1.50 (higher fees for Coaster and Amtrak). For more information on how to plan your trip, visit www.sdcommute.com. MCASD INTERNSHIPS Internships are available at the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego throughout the year. Learn about Museum career possibilities and the day-to-day operations of each Museum department. Also, assist Museum professionals with important administrative, research, and event-oriented projects. Undergraduates who are enrolled as juniors or seniors in a four-year degree program, and graduate students are eligible to apply. The Museum encourages students from all backgrounds to apply and is dedicated to a culturally diverse internship program. For details on intern positions currently available, please visit our Job Openings page.
