MCASD ANNOUNCES NEW QUALCOMM GRANT TO CONTINUE FREE ADMISSION FOR THOSE AGES 25 AND UNDER
December 2, 2009
San Diego, CA— The Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego proudly announces Qualcomm’s continued sponsorship of the 25 and under free admission program for another two years. Thanks to this generous support, all MCASD locations—downtown San Diego (Joan and Irwin Jacobs Building and 1001 Kettner) and La Jolla—will continue this policy.
Dr. Hugh M. Davies, The David C. Copley Director of MCASD, said, “Thanks to the community commitment and generosity of Qualcomm, MCASD is very pleased to be able to continue this highly successful program. Since its launch in 2007, over 35,000 young people have received free admission to the Museum, enjoying exhibitions and programs that help them learn about contemporary visual art and ideas. We are building our audiences of the future by serving them so well today.”
“Qualcomm is very pleased to continue its support of the 25 and under free admission program at the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego. Young people thrive with new ideas and experiences, and cultural assets such as MCASD help to stimulate and foster innovation in youth, our leaders of tomorrow,” said Susan Laun, Vice President of Human Resources.
In 2007, Qualcomm’s outstanding support of arts and culture was recognized with the prestigious BCA10 award. The BCA10 is a prestigious national list created by the Business Committee for the Arts to recognize businesses for their exceptional involvement with the arts, thereby enriching the workplace, education, and the community. These companies set the standard of excellence and serve as role models for others to follow. Qualcomm has been a major supporter of MCASD’s education programs for over 15 years and the company’s generous support of the 25 and under free admission program is helping to develop young arts enthusiasts.
