MONTE CARLO DOES BOND –- MCASD’S ANNUAL GALA TAKES PLACE ON SEPTEMBER 25, 2010

July 19, 2010

San Diego, CA—The Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego’s 34th annual Monte Carlo gala will be a night of sophisticated glamour on Saturday, September 25, 2010 at MCASD’s oceanfront La Jolla location.

Selected by event chairs Sheryl and Harvey White, this year’s theme – Monte Carlo Does Bond – will transform the Museum’s galleries into Agent 007’s playground. Gala guests are invited to start the evening at a cocktail party where they can enjoy a martini (shaken, not stirred), casino games, and worldly hors d’oeuvres before making their way to the “Diamonds Are Forever” themed dining room for dinner under the stars. All proceeds from the night’s festivities will benefit the Museum’s education programs and exhibitions.

Following dinner, guests will delight as the party continues into the late-night with live DJs, Bond Girls and villains, desserts, and charity gaming tables, among many other surprises.

The Monte Carlo Gala – A Tradition in San Diego

Over the years, in part because of its unique and incomparable seaside setting, the Monte Carlo Gala at MCASD has become one of the most popular events in San Diego and Southern California, and this year’s event is sure to result in record support. The gala serves as the primary annual fundraiser for the Museum, and over the years has raised more than $5 million for MCASD’s exhibitions and education programs.

Individual dinner tickets are available for $450, $750 and $1,250; tables of 10 can be purchased for $4,500, $7,500 and $12,500. Special “Goldfinger Level” tables are also available for $25,000 and will feature additional perks such as tableside champagne and caviar service. To reserve individual tickets or tables, or for more information, please contact Lesley Emery at lemery@mcasd.org or 858 454 3541 x143.
